I got science for any occasion

In the most recent issue of Nature magazine, a study showed that androgenous symmetrical dancers (fabricated from footage of real dudes) were more attractive than their less-coordinated counterparts. I could have told you that without a multi-million dollar RO1. Anyway, if you want to get laid, buy our album, set up a big mirror in your bed room, and get practicin'. In related news, there's just something stunning and simple about the non-literal photo (for once, jeez) on the cover of the most recent issue of Cell. Their most provocative article, Selective Evolution of Stromal Mesenchyme with p53 Loss in Response to Epithelial Tumorigenesis, did not include Jamaican men shaking it.

friendly folks

Yes, yes friendly folks can be found at Gorrilla Vs. Bear, When Apes Rule the Earth, and Cool Tapes. Because we get so little attention here at DZUSA headquarters, we get particularly excited when people link us and say they like our jams. Especially, when those favorable reviews come from like-minded kids. Also, I've noticed that we're getting a lot of hits on the blog entry that included a photo of my blistered finger. I wonder why that is.

fakey data

I doubt anyone has been tracking this story, but I find these things totally fascinating. You may have heard a couple months ago that a South Korean group made "tailored human stem cells." Now the hero has been disgraced by accusations of fraud, but he's fighting back. There's a novel in there some where.

FWIW

I've been loving lists lately so here are the best shows I saw in 2005:
5) Marumari (this may have been the end of 2004, but close enough)
4) Professor Murder
3) The Lucksmiths
2) Animal Collective
1) The Juan Maclean (twice, actually, and both shows were superb)

And the worst shows?
3) The New Pornographers (who I love by the way, but the show was boring and wiffle ball was calling)
2) The Fiery Furnaces (seriously, fuck them)
1) Kid 606 (again, I love the guy, but yuck)

I fear the giant scorpion

The tracks left by a giant water scorpion as it dragged its great bulk across a beach 330 million years ago have been discovered in Scottish rock. There's more at the BBC News site.
